Obtain quality education: Chotisüh

Calling upon students to obtain quality education, Parliamentary Secretary, Social Welfare, Child and Women Development Chotisüh Sazo on Saturday said that one must acquire quality education to be at par with the modern world.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 12th general session cum fresher social of the Kohima Chesezu Students’ Union at Red Cross building, Sazo urged the Chakhesang community not to depend on their backward quota but come out of it and compete with others.
Stating that the society had just stepped out from the primitive life, Sazo said, “Unless you give your best, you won’t be able to reach the rest”. He encouraged the students to strive for excellence with hard work, sincerity, determination, punctuality, discipline and also practice economical way of life. The chief guest further urged the parents to be careful in motivating and guiding their children while choosing their career.
Delivering the presidential address, president of KCSU, Vengota, said that people were caught in a wrong notion in the field of education which had led to untoward situations. He urged all to do away such attitude and take active role in reconstructing the society. He further called upon the students to pursue their carriers with greater and sincere effort and strive towards excellence to face the competitive world.
Highlights of the programme included speech by Dr. Chekhwüprü, first PH.D holder amongst the Chesezu; Vethivolü, top 2 in HSLC 2008; and Sezolü, on behalf of the fresher. Songs were presented by Vezhotsolü and Zalekholü, while vote of thanks was pronounced by Jemimah. The programme was chaired by P. Vekho and Kekuoneinuo.
