
Officers Hill (Thegabakha) Colony Council (OHCC) Kohima inaugurated its new council office-cum-multi-purpose building and community borewell here, on Saturday.
In a short speech, guest of honour, 8 Western Angami A/C, Keneizhakho Nakhro, MLA, congratulated the colony for the successful completion of the building.
He expressed hope that with the new building, the colony would be encouraged to pursue new vision in the day to come.
He added that a new chapter had started where there were endless possibilities for colony members to take up any activity.
Keneizhakho lauded the colony leaders saying they had exhibited dedication towards the welfare of the colony by outsourcing funds without the help of the government.
He reminded the gathering that the colony was even awarded the cleanest colony by KMC in the past which was a testament of its progress.
Keneizhakho urged the colony members to keep up the good work and continue to be role model for the rest of Kohima.
In a brief remark, Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) president Thejao Sekhose congratulated the colony.
He disclosed that AKMWP was the apex body of 56 colonies under 19 wards in Kohima which was formed six years ago.
He disclosed that AKMWP was playing the role of a watchdog and pressure group for all its member colonies.
Earlier the inaugural programme was chaired by OHCC general secretary, Ruokuolhouvo Miachieo while Kohima Ao Baptist Church, senior pastor, Rev. Sentisashi Aier offered the dedicatory prayer and OHCC chairman, Khrielakuo Sekhose delivered the welcome address. The inaugural programme was attended by well-wishers and representatives from various colonies in Kohima.
