The Oil Palm Fruit (Fresh Fruit Bunch) procurement ceremony was inaugurated by CEO-Nagaland State Agriculture Marketing Board (NSAMB), Ikuto Zhimomi at NSAMB market yard, 4th mile, NE Expo site on September 23.
In a press release issued by district agriculture officer Dimapur, L. Mhao Lotha stated that Zhimomi appreciated the efforts given by the farmers till date and encouraged to go for more intensive cultivation.
Further expansion of areas as the market has been assured to the growers by procuring the FFB according to the MOU signed between the department of agriculture and Shivasais Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd. He also stated that this was a dream come true that the department of agriculture has achieved so far with market led production started some years back.
CEO-Shivasais Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd., Ranga Reddy encouraged the farmers not to be discouraged by all the negative remarks from different sources about the cultivation of oil palm.
He also advised the farmers to continue the cultivation in a larger scale as the income of palm oil promises a better return.
The programme was attended by the department of agriculture officials and oil palm growers.
