In connection with the rape of a five-year-old girl at Mongsenbai ward, Mokokchung town on June 11, 2018, the Ao Senden has demanded that the accused one Limatoshi (19) be punished under POCSO Act . In a representation to the deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Ao Senden president, M Toshi, and secretary, Imtipokyim, also demanded compensation to the victim. Further, the Ao Senden demanded that no leniency be shown to the accused during the process of trial, conviction and pronouncement of quantum of sentence. Ao Senden affirmed that it would never accept the verdict if altered.
