A local court sentenced one Bijoy Mushahari to 10 years in prison for raping a minor girl in March, 2017. Principal District and Session judge and special judge (POCSO) Kohima, after hearing the Special Public Prosecutor and the defense counsel, found Mushahari guilty and sentenced him to ten years in prison. The arrest was made following a complaint filed by Chiechama Village Youth Organization president at Kohima Women Police station, Public Prosecutor Kathu Rengma stated in a press note. The case was investigated by UBSI S. Yawao and submitted the charge sheet against the accused. During the course of investigation, ten witnesses were examined.
