Acting on a tip off, the excise narcotic personnel apprehended one individual on charges of possessing heroin at Nagarjan, Dimapur.
Following information about illegal transaction of drugs in Nagarjan area, excise narcotic personnel swung into action after several attempts during the week and seized 300 grams of heroin from the illegal possession of one Bisu Rai (27), resident of Half Nagarjan, Dimapur.
According to deputy commissioner of excise (NC), S. Chanlei Angh, the seized contraband drug was recovered from 25 soap cases weighing around 12 grams.
The accused was immediately arrested and booked under relevant sections of NDPS Act 1985, Angh said, adding that the case was now under active investigation.
