One held with heroin

Excise department (Narcotic Cell) Nagaland arrested one woman along with 150 gms of “sunflower (heroin)” on December 12 at the Inter-State Excise Check Gate Khuzama, Kohima. 

In a press release, deputy commissioner of excise (NC) S.Chanlei Angh informed that the seizure was made when Excise NC duty party during routine checking intercepted a Maruti Alto passenger vehicle (NL 01H 7838).

On checking the car, Angh said the Excise personnel recovered the drugs packed inside soap-cases and concealed inside a polythene bag containing dried Naga King Chillies.

In this connection, one Shovi (35) wife of Lt. Bosu, resident of Senapati Town, Manipur was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985, and further investigation is on, informed the release. The Excise NC duty party consisted of AIE Nokcha Ao, head constable Burtemshi and constables Nyingpen, Khumeng, Vitsathrong, Aienla, Pongyong and Tokaho.
