In a tragic accident, one person died while three others sustained injuries when they were buried under a retaining wall which collapsed at Tongdensuyong Ward Saturday at around 3 p.m.
All four were masons working on the particular wall of which one died on arrival at the hospital. Of the three, one of them was rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
On receiving news of the tragedy, police and civil officials along with disaster management personnel rushed to the spot to supervise rescue and provide assistance.
It may be pointed out that the public nearby immediately responded when they dug out the persons buried underneath the earth and also rushed the injured to hospital.
Meanwhile, DC Mokokchung visited the injured at the hospital. He also handed over immediate relief amount of Rs. 10,000 to the deceased’s father and Rs. 3000 each to the injured.
