DIMAPUR, AUG 22 (NPN): Around 200 athletes participated in the state-level grand finale of the “One Nagaland Run–5K” at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima, on Saturday.
Organised by the Naga People’s Front (NPF) central youth wing in collaboration with the Chümoukedima NPF youth wing division, the event was held under the slogan, “Running Together, Growing Together.”
Advisor to the chief minister and Investments & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) chairman, Abu Metha, attended the event as the special guest.
The grand finale featured athletes from across the state competing in the open category for both men and women.
In the men’s category, John Minj secured first place, followed by Takasanen in second and Renthungo Tsanglao in third.
Serlibon Teronpi emerged winner in the women’s category, while Songmo P and Supei S secured second and third positions, respectively.
NPF central youth wing congratulated the winners and appreciated all participants for their performance, enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
It said the successful conduct of the “One Nagaland Run–5K” across the state reflected the role of sports in bringing people together, promoting healthy living and encouraging young people towards a more active and united Nagaland.
