As part of the ongoing crackdown by security forces on insurgent groups operating in the state, one active cadre of NSCN (K-YA) was apprehended near Perizie colony, Kohima on July 14.
According to PRO defence, Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, based on specific input regarding the presence of UG cadre in the area, the security forces launched an operation and apprehended the individual. The troops also recovered one point 22mm pistol, five rounds of point 22mm live ammunition, extortion pad and extortion slips of NSCN/GPRN/K from the possession of the individual.
The apprehended individual along with the recovered items have been handed over to North Police Station, Kohima for further investigations.
