A new OPD complex at district hospital Kiphire was inaugurated on July 4 by parliamentary secretary for CAWD, Torechu.
The chief guest in his address thanked the medical fraternity by citing that in spite of poor infrastructures and limited facilities, they are rendering their best services to the public in remote district like Kiphire at the same time encouraged the gathering to cooperate and show their best attitude towards the medical staffs working in the district.
Torechu also promised to construct one public waiting shed and a community latrine within the year in the district hospital and later donated Rs.10,000 towards the hospital welfare fund.
The programme was also attended by MLA Kipili Sangtam who encouraged people of the district to produce congenial atmosphere where government officials could put their best to develop the district.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kiphire, Dr. I. Sungit, in his short speech thanked the Nagaland government for constructing the new OPD complex which he termed was a long felt need of the hospital and also pointed out that the district lacks in basic health care infrastructure and facilities including the district hospital for which he requested the people’s representatives of the district to project the needs to the highest authority.
Earlier, the programme chaired by Deputy Commissioner, L. Yantsow Lotha, who is also the chairman of the district hospital management society, Kiphire, started with an invocation prayer by pastor of Sangtam Baptist Church, Kiphire, C. Chopongkyu while Dr. Tia, Medical Superintendent, DHK, delivered vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with benediction prayer by S. Mughato Aomi, president, Pastor Union, Kiphire. All the dignitaries visited the hospital wards and gave monetary aids to the admitted patients in the hospital.
