The monthly open house program organized by CHILDLINE Dimapur, Prodigals’ Home was held at Unity village, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou on May 28.
A session on CHILDLINE 1098, a project under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, implemented by CECS as nodal organization and Prodigals’ Home as the collaborative organization was held where the participants were informed on CHILDLINE 1098, a 24×7 Helpline outreach service for children in need of care and protection, any children concern adult could dial 1098 anytime to get information, phone testing, report children cases and avail the services provided by CHILDLINE and it is toll free.
A short video on sex education was shown to the children, who were also taught on good and bad touch, private and personal space and the methods and tactics used by abuser.
CHILDLINE Dimapur, with the support from the unity village Sumi Baptist Akukuhou, reached out to about 400 Sunday school children and 13 teachers.
It may be mentioned that open house program is conducted once a month in different colonies and villages to reach out to the children and various stakeholders on child rights.
