District Health Society (DHS) Tuensang conducted an oral health screening camp and awareness programme at community hall, Kuthur village, Tuensang on April 30.
According to a press release issued by, DMO, NHM Tuensang, Apheang, at the camp, Jr. Dental Surgeon Dr.Aoyanger gave a presentation on oral health, types of diseases, causes of oral diseases, causes of poor oral health, signs and symptoms, etc.
Altogether, 30 patients availed free dental screening camp. A leaflet on oral health was also distributed to the participants.
Around, 70 participant including youths and council members participated in the screening camp. The medical team was led by Dr.Aoyanger and accompanied by ANM District hospital, district consultant, DTCC and DMO (NHM).
WGC: Commemorating the Oral Cancer screening month, National Oral Health Program Mon District conducted Oral screening at Wangkhao Government College (WGC), Mon town, on April 26.
A press release by media officer, NHM Mon, stated that Jr dental specialist DH Mon, Dr Neingutunuo, Jr dental surgeon, DH Mon, Dr Imtimenla and RBSK, MHT, MO, Dr Avono, raised awareness on early cancer detection and how it could be prevented. The release added that a total of 472 students were screened, 2 precancerous lesions were detected and counseled, while toothpastes and pens along with IEC materials were distributed to the students.
