Organisations condemn assault incident at Phesama

DIMAPUR: Various organisations have strongly condemned the assault incident that occurred on the evening of May 12 at Phesama village.
PYO: Phesama Youth Organisation (PYO), in a condemnation note by general secretary Neitho Tacü and information & publicity secretary Khrielekho Khale, expressed shock and anguish over the incident allegedly perpetrated by Seyieneiu Chütso. PYO described the act as violent, unlawful and a serious threat to public peace, safety and human dignity. Extending solidarity to the victims, the organisation urged law enforcement authorities to take swift action against the accused to ensure justice and prevent recurrence.
KUK, KNSK & KSUK: Konyak Union Kohima (KUK), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) and Konyak Students’ Union Kohima (KSUK), in a joint statement, condemned the assault and attempted rape incident. Alleging that the accused unlawfully entered a residence, assaulted family members and attempted to rape a minor, the organisations termed the act “inhuman and barbaric.” They called upon law enforcement agencies to take strict and immediate action to bring the accused to justice.
PMK: Phesamapfü Mechü Krotho (PMK)denounced the reported case of physical and sexual assault on three individuals allegedly committed by Seyieneiu Chütso. PMK described the incident as a “grave violation of human rights” causing serious physical and psychological harm to the victims. It urged investigating agencies to conduct a transparent, time bound inquiry and ensure justice at the earliest.
