Several organisations have condemned the alleged grenade attack on Assam Rifles JCB on August 12 at ChenloishoVillage under Mon district.
CVC, CVSU: Chenloisho village council, Chenloisho village students’ union and public have strongly condemned the attack on 28 Assam Rifles by some miscreants wherein a civilian was also “severely injured”.
In a condemnation note, CVC chairman Nokkhah Konyak condemned the coward attack against the security forces in the civilian population area, saying that the attack has horrified and saddened peace loving people in the village.
CVC said it also rejects and condemns any opposition or resistance with violence as it undermines the very foundation of peace and harmony in the society. The council said it does not support any party engaging in any form of violence not only within its jurisdiction but any other place. CVC has further urged all individuals and communities to reject and condemn violence.
CND: Chenloisho Nokden Union Dimapur (CNUD) has expressed dismay over the alleged grenade attack by suspected insurgent cadres which resulted in injury of an army personnel of D Coy of the 28 Assam Rifles and an innocent civilian.
In a condemnation note, CNUD strongly condemned the cowardly action of the insurgents on the innocent locals and security forces when the latter were assisting the people of the village.
CNUD said the people of Chenloisho village would not tolerate such inhuman action by any organisation, saying that grenade attack on the JCB belonging to Assam Rifles while the latter was helping in clearing the road of the village was a “direct attack on Chenloisho village”. The union said the citizens of the village, both living in and outside the village, strongly demand the reason behind such attack in the village.
