
Eastern Nagaland Women Organization Dimapur (ENWOD), GB Union Dimapur (Sadar), Tikhir Women Association (TWA) and Phomla Hoichem have condemned the killing of over a dozen civilians at Oting by security forces on December 4.
ENWOD: While vehemently condemning the massacre of the 14 innocent and precious lives, Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation Dimapur said that no words could express the grief and pain of such degree of atrocity committed by “the senseless and merciless Indian army”.
It prayed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) would judiciously carry out the investigation and deliver justice to the victims and punish the culprit and the guilty officers, commandos and jawans.
GBUD (S): GB Union Dimapur (Sadar) stated that the barbaric crime was a deliberate attempt to derail the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks and non-adhering the ceasefire ground rules.
“Such act of inexcusable occurrence time and again has created an irreparable trust deficit among the Naga people and the armed forces” it stated.
Demanding all armed personnel involved and responsible for the senseless killing violating human ethics be held accountable, GBUD (S) conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for a speedy recovery for all injured. Further, it reaffirmed its unflinching support and solidarity to its Konyak brothers.
TWA: Tikhir Women Association has condemned the merciless killing of innocent villagers and said that such act of barbaric shooting of unarmed civilians only exposed “their lack of credibility towards their intelligence and motive”.
“Terming it as mistaken Identity is clearly a mere excuse to shield their calculated operation towards innocent civilians and should be condemn by every responsible citizens”, TWA stated.
The Tikhir mothers extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and to the Konyak people and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
Phomla Hoichem: Expressing deep shock over the massacre, Phomla Hoichem questioned the security forces if the guns they carried were used to gun down innocent civilians living peacefully in their own land. It stated that such heinous act by any forces in the land would not be tolerated.
Demanding proper investigation and justice to the victims and their families without any delay, the Phomla Hoichem extended its solidarity to the bereaved families.
