All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has expressed shock and dismay over the unfortunate incident that took place in Dimapur and Longleng on January 31.
All Nagaland College Students Union in a press note by president, Zhoku and general secretary, Benjong Longchar has condemned the barbaric act of security personnel, killing two citizens brutally and injuring many others. All Nagaland College Students Union also countered the state government for “neglecting the voice of the people which has caused lot of chaos and violence in the state to extent of killing of innocent lives”.
All Nagaland College Students Union also raised a few points for the government as well as the protestors to consider urgently.
It stated that demonetization had not only made matters worse but closure of government offices and none payment of salaries has affected may students in getting admissions done.
It also stated that presence of large security personnel in Kohima, Dimapur and other district headquarters has created negative impact on the mind of the younger generation which does not bode well for psychological development of future Naga generation.
It also said that when tens of thousands of students were due to appear their examination shortly, such social unrest was not helping them at all prepare for their examinations.
All Nagaland College Students Union further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family of Avizo Metha and Bendangnungsang Ao who had sacrificed their precious life for the cause of the Naga and pray the departed souls to rest in eternal peace.
All Nagaland College Students Union further appealed to the government and all the tribal Hohos for an amicable solution at the earliest to ensure peace and harmony in the state.
WSBAK: Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) has expressed deep pain at the present situation in the Naga society and has asked everyone concerned to avoid violence and find solution at the earliest.
A press note by Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi stated that the stalemate between the leaders of the tribal hohos and the state government has been going on for so long. It therefore urged that the imbroglio should be brought to a logical conclusion, whereby both opposing parties should find amicable solution in a peaceful manner.
Keeping in mind the welfare of the people, Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu has requested all the stakeholders involved in the impasse to come to a meeting point for early solution. It also requested all the churches to pray sincerely for God’s intervention.
ACU: Angami Catholi Union (ACU) has appealed to all its members, families, village churches, centres and parishes and all the well-wishers to pray for God’s intervention and wisdom at this prevailing situation in the state to take just and balanced decisions.
Angami Catholi Union stated that in view of the prevailing situation across Nagaland, there was need of true wisdom from Almighty God to find an amicable solution.
