CTS: Changsao Thangjam Setshang (CTS) [Chang Women Organization], Tuensang, has strongly condemned the alleged rape of a minor in Mon.
In a condemnation note issued by CTS president, Naong Chemten and general secretary, Nikshela, the organization stated that the law enforcing agency and the department concerned must award the accused befitting punishment. It stated that, CTS being a women organization was extremely disheartened by the inhuman act.
CTS appealed to the law enforcing agency to monitor the matter up to the grass root level and provide medical, mental and emotional support to the child. It further appealed for justice without any prejudice.
KSU: Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has vehemently condemned the alleged rape of a minor girl by one Rahul Sen S/o Subrata Sen of Namrup Bengali Gaon of Dibrugarh Assam.
In a press release, KSU president, Bumang Phaiba and general secretary, Phoe Konyak has appealed to the concerned law enforcing authority to award exemplary punishment to alleged accused as per law, without delay.
The union also wished and prayed for speedy recovery of the victim and for strength for the victim’s family.
KSU also warned one and all to refrain from circulating false information and propaganda with regard to this sensitive issue in social media. It further appealed to all to not believe such false propaganda and inauthentic information that go viral on social media, so as to avoid any untoward issues in the near future.
WASU: Wakching Area Students’ Union (WASU) has expressed shock and anguish over the latest incident of the alleged rape of a 12 year old minor girl child at Mon town by Rahul Sen, son of Subrata Sen of Namrup Bengal Gaon of Assam’s Dibrugarh district. A condemnation note by WASU president, Chinge M. Konyak and general secretary, Wejai Konyak appealed to the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the culprit. WASU reminded the authorities that actions and not words were necessary to stop recurrence of such incidents in future.
