Organizations mourn demise of Adinno Phizo

DIMAPUR, OCT 8 (NPN): Naga People’s Front (NPF), Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) and Kudawhi Union Dimapur (KUD) have expressed condolences over the demise of Naga National Council (NNC) president Adinno Z. Phizo on Thursday.
NPF described Adinno as a “towering figure” and a strong custodian of Naga political history. It said that as the daughter of A.Z. Phizo and president of the NNC, she dedicated her entire life to the Naga cause with unwavering commitment and principle.
NPF said the Nagas had lost a motherly figure and a true nationalist leader, adding that her contributions and sacrifices for the Naga people would always be remembered. It conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives and all members of the NNC and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength and solace to the bereaved family.
CNTC: CNTC expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the passing of Adinno at Bethel Hospital, Kohima.
Describing her as a pillar of conviction, resilience and dedicated public service, CNTC president Hukiye K. Yepthomi said Adinno spent her entire life serving the Naga people with dignity and unyielding devotion.
It said that standing at the helm of the NNC through pivotal moments in Naga history, her leadership and presence embodied the spirit, strength and endurance of the collective journey.
CNTC said her passing marked the end of a historic era and left an irreplaceable void in the sociopolitical fabric of Nagaland. It paid rich tribute to her decades of sacrifice, unwavering commitment and lifelong contribution to her people, saying her legacy of fortitude and dedication would remain deeply revered and written in the annals of Naga history.
CNTC extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members, relatives, loved ones and the entire Naga nation, and prayed for comfort, strength and solace to all who mourned her loss.
KUD: Kudawhi Union Dimapur (KUD) conveyed profound sorrow at the passing of Adinno, describing her as a prominent figure in the political history of the Naga people and former president of the NNC.
KUD president K. James Vizo said her life of public engagement and steadfast commitment to the political aspirations and identity of the Naga people constituted an important part of Naga political history. It acknowledged her contribution and the place she held in the collective memory of the Naga people.
KUD extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, colleagues and all those who mourned her passing, and prayed for strength, comfort and fortitude to bear the loss.
