
Various organization have condemned the raid carried out by Assam Rifles at the private residence of Roko Angami on the wee hours of October 29.
NAPO: Northern Angami Public Organisation (NAPO) has vehemently condemned the raid carried out by 1 Assam Riffles on mere suspicion.
NAPO president Zeneituo Yano and general secretary Kuolieí Khro said that “the very appalling act took place when the victim was the main speaker at the meeting of village functionaries and sports persons” with the minister of state for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil in Kohima.
NAPO demanded proper clarification from the so-called “Friends of the Hill People” 1st Assam Riffles and appealed to all the right thinking citizens, human rights activists and peace-loving citizens to condemn the military junta style of the Assam Riffles.
PYO, PWB: Pezielietsie Youth Organisation (PYO) and Pezielietsie Welfare Board (PWB) has expressed deep shock over “the horrendous act of the unimaginable raid”.
PYO president Kekhrienyituo Sekhose and general secretary Kevisede Zhotso said that the act of “house raiding” perpetrated by the Indian armed forced in the wee hours had deeply traumatized the victim and his family and has “brought back many unpleasant horrifying memories of the past in the minds of citizens of largest democracy on earth.” PYO and PWB called on all right thinking and peace-loving citizens to condemn the despicable act which violates the very basic tenets of human rights value.
TDFA: In a condemnation note, Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) said that the “friends of the hill people” had created a sense of fear in the minds of the Naga people through the act.
TDFA president Yangdipi Sangtam and general secretary I. Ngakusomba said that the victim was a well-known personality, a respected gentleman who had brought various laurels to the state
“If a person of such stature is harassed in such a manner, we can only imagine the state of the common citizens of Nagaland” TDFA stated.
The association urged the responsible authority to investigate and take appropriate action at the earliest.
