Orgns decry poor telecom services

All Nchangram Students’ Union (ANSU). Peren and Phek Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PCCI) have raised concerns over poor network in Peren and Phek.

ANSU: All Nchangram Students’ Union (ANSU) based under Peren district has expressed dismay over the incessant recurrence of poor BSNL telecommunication facility at Tening Area since its inception in spite of repeated appeals to the concerned department to ameliorate the service conditions.
In a press release through its president, Kibouwi Zeliang and general secretary, Dithu Newmai, the union demanded the department to immediately install an “uninterruptible battery backup” within 14 days. ANSU stated that the constant power failure affected the smooth functioning of banking services at Tening town and with feasible network to be used in the Area was BSNL telecommunication, majority of students relied on it to attend online classes. The union claimed that Tening town despite being one of the oldest towns in the state has been neglected by the government.
All Nchangram Students’ Union  further stated that it would initiate volitional course of action if the department failed to comply towards the demand of the inhabitants of Tening area within the stipulated time, and that in the event of any untoward incident, the union would not be held responsible under any circumstances.
PCCI: Phek Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PCCI) has raised concern over poor telecom service in Phek district.
A press release by its president, Chetezo Akami and general secretary, Thupuhu Venuh stated that there were no sign of network improvement since January 2021 and that the network fluctuation and call-drop problems had been a serious issue.
Expressing its concern to the service providers, Peren and Phek Chamber of Commerce & Industries has appealed the concerned authorities to deliver proper network service at the earliest.
Meanwhile, it also requested the state government to allow 100% seating of passengers as per capacity in all public transport vehicles as the fare had been hiked double the rate since lockdown.
