Oriental College conducted the semi-final and final matches of its ongoing sports tournament on October 2, at the college campus.
In the first semi-final match, Team TMB triumphed over Team Orca, securing a win with 97 points. The second semi-final saw Team Highlanders defeating Team Arrow Farm with 91 points, earning their spot in the final alongside Team TMB.
The grand finale witnessed a thrilling face-off between Team Highlanders and Team TMB. With a commanding performance, Team Highlanders emerged as the champions, scoring 103 points and claiming the championship title along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000. Team TMB finished as runner-up, earning 67 points and a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. The MVP of the tournament was awarded to Keneitseizo from Team Highlanders.
The valedictory programme was graced by State Finance Manager, National Health Mission (NHM), Keneingutuo Albert Whuorie, as the special guest. In his address, Whuorie congratulated Oriental College for consistently creating platforms for youth to showcase their talents and reaffirmed the importance of sports in promoting both physical and mental well-being. He applauded all participating teams for their teamwork and sportsmanship, and encouraged students to pursue sporting interests alongside academics.
The programme was Chaired by Vizotuo Thorie and vote of thanks by Chubanenla Imchen. The thanksgiving prayer was pronounced by Chibeni Murry VP.
