DIMAPUR: A District Level Orientation-cum-Meeting on the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026–27 was held on July 3 at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall, Mokokchung.
A DIPR report informed that the programme was chaired by Imyapangla, project director, DRDA Mokokchung, while deputy commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma delivered the keynote address. In his remarks, Verma emphasised that GPDP is a participatory, inclusive and convergent planning process requiring active involvement of all stakeholders. He urged line departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective implementation of government schemes for holistic and sustainable village development.
Highlighting the crucial role of line departments, the DC encouraged every department to contribute schemes, programmes, technical expertise and resources through a convergent approach so that development plans address the priorities and aspirations of villages.
Imchatemsula Changkiri, DPM (RGSA), DRDA Mokokchung presented a comprehensive PowerPoint highlighting the importance of inclusive planning, transparency, convergence and community participation. During the interactive session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-departmental convergence for effective preparation and implementation of GPDP.
In her concluding remarks, project director Imyapangla stressed that while the Rural Development Department serves as the nodal agency for PPC, success of GPDP requires active participation, coordination and ownership of all line departments. She expressed gratitude to all members for their active participation and valuable contributions.
