
Three-day orientation programme for government school teachers for Kohima district was held from February 23 to 25 at SCERT, where 26 teachers from 18 schools participated.
Speaking as the chief guest, director SCERT, Vipralhou Kesiezie exhorted the participants to make use of the new innovative method of Activity and Competency Learning (ACL) in its best possible way and make the child involved in the learning process.
He said ACL was an innovative project under the flagship programme of SSA and informed that from this academic year the schools under ACL would be expanded to 687 schools across the state.
Kesiezie, further reminded the teachers to remain vigilant, alert and identify those areas of talent in the child and give them proper guidance, acknowledge and appreciate them.
He said that teachers were not only to transact the curriculum and syllabus but should play the role of a mentor adding a modern teacher needed to be multitalented in all the aspects of life.
The programme was chaired by reader SCERT, Thungchibemo and the resource persons of the programme were reader, Vikedono Sesa, research associate, Khriesenuo Solo and TRA Kethovilie Sachu, TRA Medohunuo Phewhuo and TRA Katirenla.
