Orientation programme for heads of Govt. schools

One day orientation programme for heads of government schools under Dimapur was organized by District Education Mission Office – Samagra Shiksha, Dimapur (DEMO-SSD) at Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) Lhomithi Hall, Chekiye Village Wednesday.
Delivering a keynote address, senior principal of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dimapur and District education Officer (DEO, charge) Dimapur, A Mughali Sema reminded the gathering of their responsibilities and duties as heads of the schools.
Admitting that running an educational institution was not an easy task, Sema said as government employees and by virtue of holding the head post, it was their duty to ensure wholistic development of students, and overall progress of respective school.
“We have to be a role model, practice what one preaches, and follow the rules and regulations that has to be followed, instead of having a causal attitude towards one own responsibility,” said Sema.
She also reminded the gathering that many components and activities that was yet to be carried out in a school on regular basis, pointing out that the activities were important as it was in line with Ministry of Education and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
During the programme, presentations on “Emerging role and function of school heads in light of NEP 2020”, Child With Special Needs (CWSN), “Vidya Pravesh”, NIPUN Bharat”, “UBISE+”, “Students enrolment drive, identification of OoSC” and Maintenance of records and accounts, PFMS” were presented by SCERT Nagaland, SLA faculty Izeule Ramlia, IE coordinator Imsuinla, EBRC Medziphema, ToT Tonika, SS project assistant Vitiho Chophy, SS-project assistant, SS-project assistant Dihilo Dukha and “SS project assistant cum accountant Itwadu Thou respectively.
The programme was chaired by SS, assistant district coordinator, Freda Angami and vote of thanks was delivered by SS-project assistant, Solomon Ennio. An interactive session was held after the programme.
