One-day orientation programme on “credit, recovery and NPA management” was conducted by NABARD Nagaland regional office Dimapur for the board of directors of Nagaland State Cooperative bank on May 21 at NABARD, conference hall.
Resource person of the programme, NABARD DGM, Dr. R. Mishra in his speech, analyzed the performance of the bank basing on the statutory inspection conducted by NABARD.
He advised the directors to give more attention on the alarming areas with special reference to NPA management and to take prompt actions for the interest of the bank.
Dr. R. Mishra further emphasized the need to comply various norms under BR Act 1949 (AACS)
Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by NABARD general manager, V Chelladurai who called on the participating directors to explore the opportunity in familiarizing themselves with the concept of change management in context to globalization.
He said that banking was redefined under the changed scenario and servicing a client required a different attitude, mindset, motivation, spirit and challenge.
The incoming general manager Ashok Chakrabarty who will take over the charge from V Chelladurai said after studying the functioning of the bank commented that with the support of NABARD, the bank can do a lot on developmental activities and also can play a vital role to fulfill the aspirations of the economically backward people of the state.
He also urged the leaders of the bank to acquire a copy of BR Act from the bank for the better administration and advised the bank management to motivate the employees and diversity its activities by utilizing the new avenues for the bright future.
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by vice chairman of the bank I Tali Longkumer.
