Kohima Village Council (KVC) has clarified that the original name of Kohima is Kewhira. In a statement, KVC chairman Helievio Solo and press & media secretary Thejao Sekhose said different versions from dubious sources can be found on the origin and meaning of the words “Kewhi” and “Kewhira” on digital platforms.
In this context, theh village council said it was constrained to set the record straight and with this sole intention, the council has taken the initiative to share the precise meaning and origin of the words “Kewhi” and “Kewhira”.
