CHÜMOUKEDIMA, AUG 10 (NPN): Outlaws FC were crowned league champions after registering a commanding 6-1 victory over School of Football (SOF) in Match 15 of the 2nd edition of the CDFA League-cum-Rokonicha Champions Trophy at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Monday.
School of Football took an early lead through Samuel (No. 8), who found the net in the 13th minute. However, Outlaws FC staged a dominant second-half comeback, with Thanglenhao (No. 11) equalising in the 49th minute before Lunmingou (No. 7) added another in the 57th minute. SOF’s Sakomar (No. 3) then conceded an own goal in the 62nd minute, further extending Outlaws FC’s advantage.
Lima (No. 20) scored a brace in the 67th and 87th minutes, while Thanglenmang (No. 12) completed the rout with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+2nd minute.
SOF’s Isheto (No. 4) was shown a yellow card in the 81st minute.
Outlaws FC’s Limakumzuk (No. 20) was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
The match patron was Avi Makritsu, president of the Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation.
With the win, Outlaws FC finished as league champions. The four teams that qualified for the Rokonicha Champions Trophy are Outlaws FC, Medziphema United FC, Piphema United FC and School of Football.
Meanwhile, the organisers informed that an exhibition match between Zhaleo XI and CDFA XI will be played at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The match patron will be chairman of Medziphema Town Council, Abei Thepa.
