CHÜMOUKEDIMA, AUG 12 (NPN): Outlaws FC (OFC) produced a dominant display to crush School of Football (SOF) 9-1 in the first semi-final of the Rokonicha Champions Trophy at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Wednesday, sealing their place in the final in emphatic fashion.
Outlaws FC wasted little time in asserting their dominance as Lima (20) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute. Lunmingou (7) then took control of the first half with a brilliant hat-trick, finding the net in the 25th, 43rd and 45+2nd minutes to hand his side a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
The second half belonged to Thanglenhao (11), who delivered a sensational five-goal performance. He struck in the 51st, 56th, 61st, 83rd and 90+3rd minutes to complete his haul and cap a resounding victory for Outlaws FC. School of Football managed a consolation goal through Sakomar (3) in the 86th minute, but it did little to alter the outcome as Outlaws FC comfortably secured a place in the tournament final. The match witnessed two yellow cards, with Lamginlal (15) of Outlaws FC cautioned in the 22nd minute and Mughabeka (6) of School of Football booked in the 88th minute.
For his outstanding five-goal performance, Thanglenhao (11) of Outlaws FC was adjudged the Player of the Match.
The first semi-final was played under the patronage of Dr. Thejaselhou Yhome (IRS), Joint Commissioner, CGST and Customs.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final will be played on August 13 at 6 p.m. at Chümoukedima Football Stadium, where Piphema United FC will take on Medziphema United FC. The match will be patronised by Temsu Longkumer, District Horticulture Officer, Chümoukedima.
