A debutant team of the tournament, Ozumi Volleyball Team clinched the title of the “16th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2023”, by defeating the defending champion MH-10, Kohima in the final in 5th sets at multi-purpose indoor stadium, Mokokchung.
The champions, Ozumi Volleyball Team walked away with a cash award of Rs. 80,000 with certificates while the runners-up, MH-10 received Rs. 50,000 with certificates. Third place was bagged by Chienino Brothers of Kiruphema who received Rs. 30,000 with certificates and the 4th place by Peren District Volleyball Association with Rs. 20,000 with certificates.
In the individual awards, player of the tournament was bagged by Reshitemjen of MH-10; best spiker by Wanglem of Ozumi Volleyball Team; and best setter Imnaakum of Ozumi Volleyball Team.
The chief match patron of the final match was Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, who also gave away the prizes. Vote of the thanks was proposed by the president of Mokokchung District Volleyball Association, Imtipokyim Jamir, the organizers of the tournament. Altogether, 19 teams participated in the tournament.
