Pfuchatsumia Thinuo(P.Khel) Kohima village on Saturday celebrated its “62nd Khel Day” at Christ King Ground, Tholiebozou, P.Khel.
Exhorting the mammoth gathering the three speakers, president NAPO, Vilie-o Rutsa, ex-chairman P.Khel C council, Megu-o Mechiilho and chairman KVC, Neivor Rutsa stressed on unity and oneness amongst Khel members. They also urged every member to extend support and cooperation to Khel activities in the days to come.
Vilie-o Rutsa, also thanked all the parents and athletics who took part in the recently concluded KVSA sports meet. He said that sports have become daily affairs these days and sportsperson can earn their livelihood if they excel in their own sporting field.
Meguo-o Mechiilho reiterated that all should strive for their best and stressed on the need to obey and abide by the rule of law while Neivor Rutsa, said “education is the foundation of everything” and added that educated youth should give their best to secure job for themselves.
Earlier, the function was chaired by vice chairman, P.Khel council, Meselhoulie Rame, invocation by deacon Khedi Baptist Church, Keyielie Rutsa and welcome address was delivered by chairman, P.Khel council, Zeneizo Rutsa.
The general secretary and finance secretary reports were presented by Dr Khrielie Pienyu and Ba-o Mechiilho respectively; special numbers were presented by PMK Jubilee choir and Pfuchazunuo group while vote of thanks was rendered by vice chairman P.Khel council, Medongulie.
In the programme, election committee convener, Kevimezalie Sote announced the names of new team for the tenure 2016-19. The team will be led by Kruyie Pienyu as the chairman and Kelhousetuo Rutsa as general secretary along with four other members.
Newly appointed chairman Kruyie Pienyu in his address assured to carry on the good works as initiated by previous team and also sought support and cooperation from everyone.
As part of the “Khel Day” a night variety show also took place in the evening.
