PACSU supports district demand for Shamator

DIMAPUR: Pungro Area College Students’ Union (PACSU) has supported the district headquarters demand for Shamator and expressed disappointment at the state government for “not upholding” its commitment and assurance.
In a press release, PACSU president Tokiu and assembly speaker Tsuyihba stated that the agreement “must be fulfilled at the earliest” and the state government should show its integrity.
Approving the inclusion of Pungro sub-division in Shamator district, the student union pledged to stand firm in support of Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC).
PACSU expressed resentment towards the government over “disheartening Yimkhiung community” and said that the district demand was a desire of the Pungro sub- division.
It informed its federating units “to prepare mentally and physically for the peaceful protests” in the event of failing to fulfil the assurance from the state government.
