DIMAPUR: The Home Department has declared June 16, 2026, as a paid holiday for registered voters of Ward No. 11 (Chaara) under Chümoukedima Town Council, Ward No. 8 (Tsumang ‘B’) under Wokha Town Council, and Ward No. 9 (Samba Ghoki) under Atoizu Town Council to enable them to cast their votes. The holiday will apply to State and Central Government employees, including those working or residing outside their respective wards but enrolled as electors there. Employees of banks and financial institutions registered as voters in the concerned wards will also be entitled to a paid holiday. In addition, shops and commercial establishments owned or managed by such electors will remain closed during polling hours. In the event of a re-poll, the day fixed by the SEC will also be observed as a public holiday for the affected electors.
