DIMAPUR: Minister for Health & Family Welfare P. Paiwang Konyak visited Tizit on July 23 to assess the flood‑affected situation.
According to a DIPR report, addressing government officials, NGOs, civil society organisations and student bodies at the ADC’s conference hall, Tizit, Paiwang expressed appreciation to all who had come forward to assist the affected people during the unprecedented crisis. He commended the collective efforts of stakeholders in providing timely relief and support.
Highlighting challenges in the post‑flood situation, Paiwang assured that all possible assistance, including medicines, food and other essential relief materials, would reach Tizit once road conditions improve and accessibility is restored.
Besides extending care to displaced families, the minister personally donated food grains and financial assistance to the worst‑affected areas, including Tizit Town, Lapa Lampong and Greenply area. He further assured continued support towards relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Appealing to well‑to‑do individuals and organisations, Paiwang urged them to contribute in whatever way possible to support those affected by the disaster.
