Midland Panchayat (Ward 9) Kohima has strongly condemned the alleged rape of a 11 year old girl child by one Robert Debburman (34), father to a five month son, hailing from Tripura, and a Nagamese coordinator under City Church Kohima (under construction), temporarily residing under Midland Colony, Kohima.
A condemnation note from chairman Midland Panchayat Kohima, Visa Meru stated that the minor was a helper of Robert Debburman. It stated that the rape incident came to light when the minor girl came to fetch water and revealed to colony residents that Debburman molested and raped her a number of times on different occasions.
Midland Panchayat ward Kohima described the act as inhuman and satanic. The Panchayat has declared that Robert, has been expelled and excommunicated for life from the colony, with immediate effect. It appealed to one and all from different sections of the people and society to condemn the act.
The Midland Panchayat also appealed to the authorized agency/authority to take appropriate measures and award the severest punishment to the perpetretor as per the law of the land, without compromising his punishment under any circumstances.
The Midland Panchayat warned that any person(s) trying to bail him out would be doing so at their own risk.
Meanwhile the Midland Panchayat shared its grief, pain and sympathy with the victim and her family and hoped that justice would be delivered to the family at the earliest.
