Pandemic no excuse for non-performance: Metsubo

Minister for rural development, Metsubo Jamir maintained that the ongoing pandemic was no excuse for non-performance and called upon all officers of the department to virtually give directions to the VDBs and ensure total implementation of programmes and schemes following all SOPs.

“The world has changed and unless we change and upgrade ourselves with the world, I think we have to be removed from our responsibilities,” he stated.
Interacting with project directors and block development officers through a virtual conference on June 28, Jamir said that the department had registered into National Electronic Financial Monitoring System (NEFMS) where job cards were now verified by the ministry through their portal. In this regard, he directed all BDOs to immediately stop using unverified job cards, if any, while managing man-days generation.
The minister also requested all the officers to submit their reports and returns on time and any query or reports that are required must be provided immediately and all MIS system to be up to date.
Informing that the ministry was asking for actual resident data from every village, he urged all officers to maintain accurate census in order to achieve 60% vaccination of every village which was based on the census.
“We have to have actual census and this will reflect on actual resident data of every village”, he said.
Delivering the introductory speech, commissioner & secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo said that the department would be compelled to conduct such virtual meetings and conferences often and urged all officers to be aware and stay updated on such meetings.
He also raised and discussed issues relating to GIS based mapping, geo-tagging, functional household tap connection funds and spring shed development project. 
Joint director K. Neibou Sekhose also reminded all districts to submit 15 success stories by July 20 and further asked the BDOs to ensure that all villages prepare citizens charter as per the direction of MoPR. He also touched on 15th finance commission and RGSA.
An overview of NSRLM activities in the state was presented by MD, NSRLM, Imtimenla, MGNREGA by joint director, Neizovonuo Neikha and PMAY-G by RDO, Hamdok Konyak. Nodal officer on COVID-19 and additional director Azenuo Pienyu also highlighted on COVID-19 dashboard.
