Minister of Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom graced the 64th general session and 3rd conference of Yachem Students’ Union (YSU) as special guest at local ground, Yachem on Tuesday.
The event was held on the theme, “3F: Fusion, Focus & Frontal”.
Speaking on the occasion, Pangnyu congratulated the YSU for their efforts in organizing the student’s conference successfully which is held after every three years.
He encouraged the students to work hard with utmost dedication and diligence if they want to succeed in life.
The minister also encouraged the younger generation to have a vision and mission to contribute towards the society.
Reminding the students that government cannot provide government job to all, Pangnyu encouraged the students to take up entrepreneurship.
He also highlighted the scheme introduced by the government for the educated unemployed such as the recently launched Chief Minister Micro Finance Programme.
Pointing out that Longleng district was one of the highest numbers in drug abuse as per the report available in Health and Family Welfare Department, he asked the students community to incorporate the action plan to eradicate this menace in their vision.
Earlier, the minister also inaugurated the YSU guest house.
Deputy Commissioner, Longleng Dharam Raj appreciated the people of Yachem for their incessant efforts in making Yachem an unparalleled village in terms of development in the region.
The DC also flagged off the marathon race under the theme “Run Against Drug Abuse“.
