Pangnyu launches ‘Swachhata Pakhwada (Fortnight)–2018’

“Cleanliness is important for healthy living” said minister for Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom at the launching of the Swachhata Pakhwada (Fortnight)-2018 at NHAK MD conference hall on April 2. 
According to a DIPR report, Phom said that cleanliness played a vital role in preventing many diseases. He explained that cleanliness was important for environmental development besides health and spiritual development. 
Cleanliness should start from the kitchen, the family and the individual, he stated, urging all to maintain personal hygiene in order to stay safe from viruses and infections.
The minister also encouraged doctors and nurses to start cleanliness drives at hospitals, dispensaries and health centers, as it will set a good example for the public to follow and live healthier and cleaner lives. He concluded his speech by reading out the twelve Swachhata pledge.
National Health Mission, Nagaland is celebrating Swachhata Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight) for fifteen days from April 1 to 15. 
According to nodal officer Swachh Bharat & additional director, DH&FW, Dr. Tokuhu Chishi, “Swachhata Se Siddhi” will be the tagline of Swachhata Pakhwada, 2018 under National Health Mission Nagaland.
