Minister of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW), S Pangnyu Phom, suggested weekly cleanliness drives should be held in all health units and establishments under Swachh Bharat mission.
He was speaking at a one-day state level departmental review meeting in the Conference Hall of the H&FW directorate, Kohima on Friday. Pangnyu Phom also urged all the doctors and nurses to be more dedicated and sincere in their work. He sought cooperation of all health personnel for effective delivery of healthcare services and timely provision of all assured entitlements to beneficiaries, especially women and the differently-abled.
Stressing on the problems and issues of all districts, he said that although all the problems could not be solved in a year, they could be addressed in a phased manner. Phom stated that distribution and allocation of resources would be done rationally so people across the state were not deprived of much need healthcare facilities.
He further stated that Service Rule amended recently would be implemented to streamline placement of doctors and ensure that all doctors get equal opportunities.
Commissioner & secretary H&FW, R Ramakrishnan, in his concluding remarks stressed on the need to update the departmental website so as to receive latest updates. He also informed about enforcing biometric attendance system within 100 days in all the districts.
During the meeting, all chief medical officers shared their problems and grievances.
Earlier, the inaugural function commenced with a welcome address by principal director (H&FW), Dr. Meguosielie Kire followed by an overview of departmental activities by H&FW director, Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie, NHM mission director, Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, and NSACS project director Dr. Ngangshimeren.
