PAP mandatory for foreign nationals: CP Dimapur

DIMAPUR, MAY 28 (NPN)

Commissioner of Police (CP) cum Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) Dimapur has informed that all foreign nationals staying in Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland districts, irrespective of age and OCI Card status, would be required to obtain Protected Area Permit (PAP) and to mandatorily register themselves with FRO Dimapur.
In a press release, CP cum FRO Dimapur informed that Protected Area regime, which was relaxed for Nagaland in 2022 had been withdrawn by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Accordingly, CP cum FRO said that the entire area of the State would now again be covered under the Protected Area regime.
Therefore, CP cum FRO said that all foreigners, who want to visit Nagaland, would mandatorily obtain PAP from the authorities to whom powers have been delegated. However, citizens of Afghanistan, China and Pakistan and foreign nationals having their origin in those countries would continue to require prior approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs before their visit to Nagaland. All foreigners visiting the state must mandatorily register themselves with FRO within 24 hours of their arrival.
In this connection, CP cum FRO urged the general public, government departments, tourist guides, travel agents, hotels and lodgings, institutions, organizations etc. facilitating the visit of foreign nationals to the State, to ensure that PAP be mandatorily obtained by their relatives/clients prior to their arrival in the State.
