Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has termed as “utter ignorance” the Mimi Circle Joint Council (MCJC) remark that for an “external entity” like PAPO to step in and openly favour one party would escalate the issue.
In a press release, PAPO president P. Paratsu reminded that Sütsü and Laruri were bona fide villages under PAPO. The organisation pointed out that there 10 villages and one town under PAPO while there were eight villages under MCJC. PAPO expressed shock at MCJC rejoinder, which it said was without any remorse or guilt for their cowardly act of March 28, 2025. As a guardian to its people, PAPO said it had been discharging its bounded duty for safeguarding its villages/people for the wellbeing of its area.
Therefore, the organisation said that MCJC remark of “external entity” did not arise. “Be it PAPO, MCJC or any NGO work for the welfare of its member,” the organisation said.
PAPO maintained that MCJC should be rather “disturbed” and “outraged” by the unprovoked attack on innocent civilians and arson committed by its own members if it was a social organisation and “not a terror organisation bent on violence and bloodshed”.
PAPO asserted that no right-thinking individual or organisation would justify such heinous crime and act of barbarism “in today’s civilised world”. It said that every right-thinking individual or organisation should condemn such act of violence.
PAPO maintained that one should let good sense prevail and resolve the issue amicably through peaceful dialogue.
