A Centre for Pastoral Renewal (CPR) was launched by president of Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC), Rev. Dr. Hukashe Jhimomi, at NBCC Platinum Hall, Bayavü Hill, Kohima on November 17. The objective of the CPR is to facilitate holistic renewal in the life and ministry of the Church.
A press release by Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS) stated that the CPR is an initiative of OTS envisioning the needs of local contemporary Churches, especially those who engage in pastoral leadership, and also those who prepare to embark on the pastoral ministry. The CPR intends to reach out to pastors and leaders in the Church ministry for their renewal, recreation, rejuvenation and retreat, and equip potential pastors for their vocation, the release added.
The release further stated that leaders who minister to the people of God from a ‘running stream’ than from a ‘stagnant pond’ alone can nourish and flourish the body of Christ. Consequently, CPR focuses on emotional, spiritual, relational, and skills renewal for people already in the ministry and those preparing for one.
