Deputy chief minister, Y. Patton on Friday congratulated St. Xavier College,(SXC) Jalukie for achieving NAAC grade ‘A’ with CGPA 3.12 and termed it as a “great achievement” of the college.
A press release by media cell of Dy. CMO said that Patton, who graced the NAAC grade ‘A’ celebrations and academic closing day of the college, said it was a moment of pride for the people of Peren and Nagaland.
The deputy chief minister said the celebrations for the remarkable achievement of the college will go on, but the great sacrifices and hardships of the pioneers who have rendered their valuable services should not be forgotten.
He also congratulated the principal Dr. Fr. Francis Cheerangal, for receiving the Governor’s Commendation certificate on January 26, 2023 for his outstanding contribution and services to the community.
“The college has also brought many accolades including winning the National NSS award from the President of India, National Youth Parliament and best Northeast NCC etc, which speaks volumes for itself”, Patton said.
He said that all this was possible, through dedication and devotion and urged them to keep up the good spirits for furtherance of the good mission.
He further called upon the people of the area to extend full cooperation to the college authorities, so that they can function without hindrances in the service of the people.
After the formal programme, Maj. General, Vikas Lakhera, SM, IGAR (North) inaugurated the renovated basketball court.
In his address, Major General Lakhera, emphasized the importance of sports in shaping the holistic development of individuals and commended St Xavier’s College for their dedication to nurturing talent.
