Patton welcomes bail of 3 individuals in C’garh

DIMAPUR

Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton, has welcomed the news that Sister Preethi Mary, Sister Vandana Francis, and Sukaman Mandavi have been granted bail in Chhattisgarh. The three individuals were arrested on July 25 at Durg Railway Station, an incident that raised serious concerns due to conflicting accounts surrounding the case.
According to a press release issued by the Media Cell of the Deputy Chief Minister (Home & Border Affairs), Patton expressed concern over the circumstances of the arrest and emphasized the importance of a fair, impartial, and transparent investigation. He underscored that the legal process should be guided by facts and evidence and must be free from any form of undue influence or pressure. Patton reiterated that India, as a democratic and secular nation, guarantees every citizen the right to practice their faith without fear. He noted that sensitive cases of this nature must be handled with care, ensuring that no individual or community feels targeted or harassed. He also expressed confidence that the authorities in Chhattisgarh would uphold constitutional values and ensure that justice is delivered through due process.
