PBCA decries persecution of Christians

The ancient Indus valley civilisation was one of the earliest civilisations in the world, alongside Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and China. The Indus Valley was a cradle of all civilisations in India. Indus Valley civilisation shows its own advancement in planning, trade, urbanisation etc, not persecution. Ancient Indian sages never taught us about physical assault and harassment, but it teaches wisdom, human dignity and to be respectful towards one another. Indian traditions and ethos teach us on Unity in Diversity and co-existence, not about persecution.
New India is gradually losing its true ancient values, virtues and its true essence of being Indians. India is popularly known for the largest democracy in the world, but religious minorities are ostracised, tortured and flogged without democratic respect and values within the India. India is incredibly known for persecution of religious minority like Christians as well. The arrest of the nuns, Preeti Mary and Vandana Francis, residents of Narayanpur in Durg district on 25th July, 2025 and bailed out on 2nd August by a bond of 50,000. is politically motivated ideology of the government of Chhattisgarh. The members of Bajrang Dal are involved hand in globe. There is upper hand.
The anti-conversion law is made against Christians in India. The anti-conversion law is politically designed, religiously modified and ideologically targeting Christians in India. It is subtly operated to stamp out Christians from the soil of India. The government of the day does not believe Unity in Diversity, but they believe in uniformity such as one religion, one culture, one tradition, one way of thinking, one way of clothing and one way of eating, a monogamy which is very dangerous in pluralistic society like India. Conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit, it is not human works. Christians do not practice coercion conversion nor a mass conversion. Conversion is done by the inspiration and conviction of the Holy Spirit, not by forceful act. If any Missionaries forcefully convert the non-Christians, then it is done against the will of God.
Faith is personal choice, salvation belongs to individuals, and every citizen of India has the right to make one’s decision, choose their own faith and practice it if they are convicted and inspired by the power of the Holy Spirit. The article 25-28 of the Indian Constitution guarantees the freedom of conscience and the right to freely profess, practice, and propagate religion, the right to manage their own affairs in matters of religion. Therefore, every Indian citizen has the freedom to choose and practice their own faith (religion) without interference. Our huge country India is founded on these principles and provisions.
Christians never go and attack others, but the members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) go with lathi, stick, stone and machete and attack Christians in India. Who empower them to attack on Christians? Who support right-wing extremist? Who design one religion hegemony within India? Ancient Indus valley civilisation, India sages and Indian traditions had never taught us such religious fanatic extremism. There is a significant increased of attack on Christians every day. Is not government of the day elected to protect citizens? Are Christians not Indian citizens? We are all citizens of this land.
We live in our Sovereign Land as a free citizen. There should be socio-religious harmony in the country. If there is doubt about Christians, then Inter-faith Dialogue will uncover it. Christians are peace-loving people being taught by our Lord Jesus Christ. Stop attacking against Christians, we are not attacking anyone.
