DIMAPUR: A three day leadership training was organised by Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) Women Department, under the leadership of its women secretary P. Angbhenla Phom, in partnership with the Pochury Baptist Church Council (PBCC), from August 11 to 13 at PBCC Mission Centre, Yisisotha, Meluri district.
Altogether 113 delegates from PBCC Women Department and Christian Education Department attended the programme. The training focused on equipping women leaders with informed skills, approaches and practical learning.
Topics included leadership commitment and attributes, structural designation and complementing roles, as well as hands on mock practice on conducting funerals and offering professional counselling to grieving families and distressed members.
Sessions also covered professionalism in ministry and workplace, social and pulpit etiquette, and inductive Bible study methods. Children pastors participated in craft sessions where they were taught to creatively utilise available resources, break the cycle of violence against children, and adopt effective teaching methods.
Recognising the need for leaders to remain physically healthy and active, basic health sessions and Zumba workout sessions were also conducted.
Resource persons from PBCA included P. Angbhen Phom, Rev. Mongvai, and Chulei Phom.
