Extension of autonomous status to Patkai Christian College (PCC) has been granted by “Standing Committee” constituted by University Grants Commission (UGC), informed a press statement by the college.
The release stated that PCC (Autonomous) – a UGC conferred “College with Potential for Excellence” – was granted the extension after a meeting of the committee held on September 25 and that on July 26, a five-member peer team of UGC for “Autonomy Extension” had visited PCC.
On the basis of the assessment of the infrastructural-financial-human resources, teaching-learning processes, adaptation of upgraded technologies, teaching-research and the progress from the last autonomy granted to the college, the decision to extend the autonomous status to the college was taken, stated the release. The peer team comprised of vice chancellor, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Professor Suranjan Das, Swami Kamalasthananda, Ramakrishna M.V.C College, Kolkata, additional director, Higher Education, Nagaland, Dr. Watijungshi, Plant Pathology, SASRD, Nagaland University, Dr. Tiameren and educational officer, UGC-NERO, Guwahati, Dr. Nikhil Kumar.
