Patkai Christian College observes 50th foundation day

Patkai Christian College (PCC) commemorated its 50th Foundation Day on August 28 at Bundrock Auditorium.

A press release by PCC informed that speaker, member, Board of Trustees, Hoto Yeptho, in his address, reflected on significance of the Jubilee, and elaborated on origin of the word “Jubilee”, drawing from Biblical references, and emphasized its importance.

He later connected the reference to the history of the college, noting its humble beginnings in 1974 under the leadership of Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak and his wife Margaret Shishak, who started the institution with 20 students, few teachers in thatched houses.

“But today it has become a city. It has become autonomous, almost a university. One of the best colleges in the North East. Thousands of graduates, postgraduates, and doctorates have been produced. Hundreds of missionaries, officers, and professionals, and thousands of responsible citizens have been produced. Praise to our God,” he observed.

In his closing remarks, Yeptho called for renewal of the college’s vision, and said, “To rekindle our vision is the Jubilee, and therefore let us renew and rekindle our vision and celebrate this Jubilee”.
The event featured special musical performance by students of Margaret Shishak’s School of Music.
