PDAA to hold selection trials for NSPG

DIMAPUR, OCT 5 (NPN): The Peren District Athletics Association (PDAA) has announced a district-level selection trial to identify athletes who will represent Peren district at the upcoming Nagaland State and Para Games (NSPG) 2026.
According to an official notification issued by the association, the selection trial will be held on October 8, at St. Xavier’s College Ground, Peren. Athlete registration will take place at the venue from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
The association has invited all eligible athletes aged 14 years and above to participate in the trials. Participants have been asked to bring their Aadhaar Card for verification and registration purposes.
The trials will cover a wide range of track and field disciplines for both men and women. Events include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m races, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw. Relay events such as 4x100m and 4x400m will also be conducted, while men will additionally compete in a 4x400m mixed relay and cross-country race.
The selection trial aims to provide a platform for talented athletes from across the district to showcase their abilities and earn a place in the district squad for the state-level games.
The PDAA has encouraged athletes from all parts of the district to participate in the event and demonstrate their sporting potential. The association stated that the trials would ensure the selection of the best athletes to represent Peren at NSPG 2026.
