Nchangram Lun FC defeated Friends of Society on Saturday to top the table of the ongoing Peren District Football League (PDFL) 3.0 at Turf ground, Jalukie Town.
The opening clash of the day saw high drama as Nchangram Lun FC came from behind to secure a thrilling 2–1 victory over Friends of Society. With both sides eyeing the top spot, the match was fiercely contested from the outset.
Friends of Society struck first in the 20th minute when Lungpetsing converted a penalty after their striker was brought down in the box. Despite relentless pressure from Nchangram Lun, the defence held firm until the 83rd minute, when Lamsanggin produced a dazzling run to set up Wikedatlu for the equaliser.
With momentum swinging their way, Nchangram Lun pressed forward and found the winner deep into stoppage time. A long ball was flicked on by LAMSANGGIN, allowing Poulin to finish clinically in the 93rd minute.
Keyibamleubo was cautioned with a yellow card, while Poulin was named Man of the Match for his decisive contribution. The second match featured two League debutants Mbaupunngwa FC and Football Plus Academy eager to make their mark. The game appeared destined for a draw, with both sides missing opportunities and struggling to convert chances.
The deadlock was broken in the 92nd minute when Chingthaipou fired in a superb strike from the edge of the box to give Mbaupunngwa FC the lead. However, Football Plus Academy responded almost immediately. In the 97th minute, a misjudged cross allowed Kambenbo to pounce and level the score, denying Mbaupunngwa a maiden victory.
Ramtingyibe of Football Plus Academy received a yellow card for unsporting behaviour. The Man of the Match accolade went to Tanwang.
